This basket might’ve gotten its name a little too early. Because my wife doesn’t use it for storing knitting projects but rather as her “travel” basket. When she is packing to leave for Florida to visit with her parents, she grabs this basket to place all her “everything-I-need-in-reach-while-driving” items: a couple bottles of water, some snacks for her and biscuits for Izzy, her wallet, dog leash, etc.
Behind the Series: Since moving to rural Middle Tennessee, I’ve had students travel to my workshop every year to make baskets. I wanted to create a collection exclusively offered only to them.
So I named it after my new town of McMinnville and created a line of baskets focused on rectangular shapes with utilitarian sizes—functional and sturdy baskets to last a lifetime.
This basket is not offered as a kit or in any workshops other than in McMinnville, Tennessee.
